Summary

This role is responsible for procuring freight from customers at a profitable price. Build the acquired load by inputting the data into TMW with accurate information and then secure a profitable qualified carrier to move the freight legally and within the customer’s guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Have the ability to navigate efficiently in Kam-way’s operating system- TMW 
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor under stressful circumstances. 
  • Research market trends and prioritize load assignments by customer and carrier preferences.   
  • Must ensure available truck list for following day is sent to Teams before ending shift. 
  • Ensure carrier is compliant with agreed special instructions on the rate confirmation and carrier contract, and follows Kam-Ways protocol 
  • Have the knowledge to process carrier setup and verify insurance paperwork. 
  • Provide customer sales team with details of carriers on the road 
  • Monitor the marketplace for changes in the industry (seasonality, fuel, lane rates, etc.) 
  • Provide feedback on challenges to the Team Leads 
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately recall information  
  • Ability to input loads from scratch with updated rates from the customers 
  • Prioritize loads that require PAPS, PARS, ACI, & ACE and complete or delegate the tasks to guarantee completion. 
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. 

Education and Work

  • Dispatching and Customer Service experience. 
  • Thorough knowledge of fleet management and logistics.  
  • Budget development and oversight experience. 
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications: Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.

Schedule: 

Swing Shift - 2pm-11pm.  Must be available to work weekends. 

SUMMARY:

    Reporting directly to the Team Lead, this role will be responsible for ensuring the customer freight is picked up and delivered at the accurate location within the time frame assigned. The Logistic Specialist is responsible for providing effective customer service to Kam-Way’s customers by using excellent, detailed reporting of the load in transit

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Has the ability to navigate and is fully efficient in Kam-Way operating system- TMW
    • Ability to input loads from scratch to Load Competition
    • Contact customers to update if issues arise during after-hours with loads.
    • Respond to complaints and resolve issues aiming to customer contentment and the preservation of the company's reputation
    • Having the knowledge to process customs border paper work for the team
    • Schedule drivers to pick up and deliver loads to customers or vendors.
    • Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads to remain cost-effective as a company
    • Dispatch drivers for shipment pick-ups and deliveries.
    • Update shipment tracking system and maintain timely data integrity.
    • Prioritize time sensitive cargo / shipments
    • Contact Drivers to update if issues arise during after hours with loads.
    • Interacts with the driver and or client to address any concerns or route changes
    • Holding drivers to accountability of their assignment to meet company standards
    • Plan drivers accordingly to ensure freight needs are met if problems occur at night in which prior plans are not able to be met for existing drivers and /or customers.
    • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

    • Preferred Under Graduate in Business or Management experience, but not required
    • Dispatching and Customer Service experience helpful
    • Some knowledge of fleet management and logistics is valuable
    • Budget development and oversight experience desired but not imperative

    SUMMARY:

    The main function of the Diesel Mechanic will be to generally assist in the repair and maintenance of various equipment (fleet of trucks and trailers) at the direction of the Maintenance Manager. The average age of the fleet trucks is a year and a half. 

    The Diesel Mechanic will work with the maintenance shop staff performing preventative maintenance and light repairs on our fleet of trucks and trailers.  Will include all aspect of truck maintenance to include: tire repair, tune-up, brakes, APU, trailer reefer units, PeopleNet and other projects as assigned.  The Diesel Mechanic will be reporting directly to Maintenance Manager.  Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inputting the data into TMT with accurate and timely work order repair information.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform annual inspections on all tractors and trailers
    • Perform daily yard check and daily shop check in a systematic manner
    • Create work orders for every maintenance job
    • Inventory spare parts and keep records up to date
    • Document all maintenance done on work orders and update TMT timely & correctly
    • Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units
    • Perform all levels of preventative maintenance services on trucks such as: checking batteries, lubricating equipment and machinery
    • Lube and repair trailer equipment
    • Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order
    • Maintain work area cleanliness, appearance and safety precautions
    • Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment
    • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
    • Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications
    • Excellent communication skills both written and oral communications
    • Prioritize and handle multiple projects while being punctual
    • Interact professionally with internal and external customs on all levels
    • Inform supervisor with current up-to-date information on repair status and possible delays

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Core Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

    • Posses a mechanical aptitude with the willingness to learn and take direction from Management.
    • Ability to accurately document repair procedures
    • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
    • Must be able make concerted effort to work as a team member in a diverse workplace
    • Demonstrated commitment to high professional and ethical standards
    • Minimum 1-year experience with tractor and trailer maintenance
    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Diesel Engine Technology/Vocational certification preferred
    • Freightliner Cascadia Expert Certification preferred, not required
    • Specialized training in the repair and replacement of vehicle components preferred
    • A valid driver’s license is required
    • Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems, Microsoft Suite familiarity
    • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations required

    SUMMARY:

    Kam-Way transportation is seeking to hire a detail oriented individual to fill their Accounting Specialist role. This is a dynamic role that requires someone capable of multitasking, customer relations and time management.  The role will be focused on accurately processing POD’s, billing Customers and paying Carriers.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Receive, verify, compare, and match PODs with information in TMW system
    • Contact carriers to retrieve missed pieces of received PODs
    • Assures timely and accurate invoicing
    • Makes recommendations to improve quality of invoicing procedures
    • Process accounts payable invoices on daily basis using Great Plains and TMW software
    • Verify various information such as but not limited to, carrier names, freight costs, TCH advances, to ensure accuracy for payment
    • Perform combination of routine calculating, posting and verifying duties to maintain record in accuracy by using journals and ledgers or computer.
    • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
    • Weekly filing of payable documents for safe keeping, and code documents for files according to company procedures.
    • Maintain good relationship with Customers and Carriers, communicate effectively with customer service, and all internal departments.
    • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
    • Carry out established rules and policies to ensure consistency in standard, and to protect company interests
    • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Resolving purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credits are received for outstanding memos.
    • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions, and applying deduction basing on instruction.
    • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential internally and externally

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent work experience
    • 1-2 year’s work experience in a similar capacity.
    • Customer Service experience preferred
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Microsoft Office and experience in use of Outlook, Word and Excel is a definite asset. 

    CUSTOMER SERVICE:

    Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services to both Customers and Carriers. This includes Customer/Carrier needs assessment and meeting quality standards for services.

    SUMMARY:

    • Provide specific monthly reports to Team Lead regarding detentions, layovers, rejections and claims
    • Have the knowledge, or ability to learn how, to process customs border paper work for the team and Prioritize loads that require PAPS, PARS, ACI, & ACE
    • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

    • Strong customer service skills; ability to diffuse client frustrations.
    • Thorough knowledge of fleet management and logistics.

    HIRING FOR 2 SHIFTS:

    Days: 6am - 2pm

    Swing:  1pm - 9pm

    The Maintenance / parts /  Coordinator will work with the maintenance shop staff who are responsible for repairing a fleet of trucks and trailers.  Maintenance shop manages repairs to include: trailer repairs & lube, tire repair, tune-up, brakes, APU, trailer reefer units, PeopleNet and other projects as assigned.   Maintenance / parts / Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the PM Program (TMT) and TMW with accurate and timely work order repair information. Maintenance / parts / Coordinator is responsible for buying and entering parts into TMT. Assist with the oversight the work orders, ensuring proper safety, inventory, sanitation and mechanical functions for the Dedicated Fleet Department.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • AMS Administrator – Asset Management System
      • Maintain and ensure system is up to date in regards to:
        • Fluids
        • Preventive maintenance
        • Repairs
        • Inspections
        • OEM Warranty
        • Enter in the Freightliner, Thermo King, and other warranties on all parts. 
        • Parts catalog up to date
      • When new parts need entered, I enter for use for PO’s & RO’s
    • Enter in tire stock and sizes for all tractors & trailers.
    • FMCS Compliance
      • Maintain Tractor & Trailer records.
        • All Repair orders Scanned into electronic unit files
        • All hard copies of repair orders, inspections are filed
      • Preventative Maintenance
        • Work orders and work scheduling, periodization.
        • During business hours is responsible for receiving calls regarding Breakdowns.

                             Schedule maintenance outside of Blaine shop for repairs. 

    • Schedule mobile repairs
    • Make sure I am using cost effective vendors that are doing above par work.
    • Daimler Notification
      • When received error codes via email, I would contact drivers to make sure truck is running ok.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum high school diploma degree or at least 3 years of combine work experience
    • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
    • Excels at operating in an fast pace, community environment
    • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization
    • Background knowledge or experience working in a shop
    • Background knowledge or experience in transportation operations

    SUMMARY:

    The Director of Corporate Sales will sell / represent Kam-way Transportation in its logistics services offered by the company to current and new clientele.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.
    • Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests how our services to meet those needs.
    • Demonstrates the functions and utility of our transportation logistics services to customers based on their needs.
    • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.
    • Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new lanes, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
    • Maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
    • Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.
    • Performs other duties as assigned. 

    REQUIRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES:

    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
